You can see Walker Falls right from the side of the road! It's a great spot for a quick visit. Here's how to get there:

Directions from Barnardsville

If you start from the town of Barnardsville, find the intersection of NC 197 and Dillingham Road.

  • Drive 2.2 miles on Dillingham Road until you reach a fork in the road.
  • Take the left fork. Continue for 2.7 miles.
  • The road will then turn into gravel and become Forest Road 74.
  • Drive 2.8 miles more, and you will see a small sliding waterfall.
  • Keep going for another 1.3 miles, and you will arrive at Walker Falls!
  • If you want to explore more, you can drive 4.7 miles further down Forest Road 74 to find the parking area for Douglas Falls.

Directions from the Blue Ridge Parkway

  • Look for Forest Road 63. Make sure it's open and not gated.
  • Follow Forest Road 63 until you reach Dillingham Road.
  • Turn right onto Dillingham Road.
