Mitchell Falls is a beautiful waterfall in Yancey County, North Carolina. It's about 25 feet (7.6 meters) tall! You can find it on the side of Mount Mitchell, which is the tallest mountain in the eastern United States.
The waterfall, the mountain, and a nearby state park are all named after a professor named Elisha Mitchell. He was exploring the mountain in 1857 to check his measurements. Sadly, he fell over a rocky edge near the falls and passed away.
