The Waltham Cross railway station is a train station in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, England. It first opened way back in 1840. This station is also the closest one for people visiting Waltham Abbey in Essex, England.
Trains here run on the West Anglia Main Line. The company that runs the train services is called Abellio Greater Anglia.
Waltham Cross and the Olympics
During the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London, Waltham Cross station became very important. It was one of the main ways for people to get to a special sports event.
This event was the whitewater canoe and kayak slalom. It took place at the Broxbourne whitewater course. Cheshunt station, which is the next stop north, also helped people get there.
