Warren is a small community in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. It is located along U.S. Route 30. You can find it north of Scappoose and south of St. Helens. Warren sits near Scappoose Bay, which is part of the Multnomah Channel.
Warren is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. It's also a "census-designated place" (CDP). This is a special area defined by the U.S. Census Bureau for collecting population data. In 2020, about 1,870 people lived there.
The community got its name from James Gill, a local resident. He named it after his hometown, Warren, Massachusetts. The first post office opened in 1885. Later, its name changed to "Gilltown" for a short time. This was because another place in Oregon also had a post office named Warren. In 1895, the name Warren was brought back for the Columbia County office.
