Warren Skorodenski was born on March 22, 1960. He is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. A goaltender is the player who tries to stop the puck from entering the net. Warren played for two famous teams in the National Hockey League (NHL): the Chicago Blackhawks and the Edmonton Oilers.
Warren started his professional career in 1980. He played for several teams before joining the NHL. He was known for his skill in stopping shots. He retired from playing ice hockey in 1991.
Playing for the Chicago Blackhawks
Warren Skorodenski joined the Chicago Blackhawks team. He was a backup goaltender for the 1984–85 season. During this time, he showed great skill. He had the highest save percentage in the league. This means he stopped a very high number of shots. His save percentage was 0.903, which is excellent.
Achievements and Awards
Warren Skorodenski earned some special awards during his career. While playing for the New Brunswick Hawks, he shared an important award. This was the Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award. He shared it with his teammate Bob Janecyk. This award is given to the goaltenders on the team with the lowest goals against average in the American Hockey League (AHL). A low goals against average means the team let in very few goals.
Warren was also recognized for his talent in junior hockey. He was named to the WHL Second All-Star Team in 1979. This shows he was one of the best players in his position.
