Washington's Crossing is a very important place in American history. It's where George Washington and his army made a brave journey across the Delaware River on a cold night, December 25-26, 1776. This daring move happened during the American Revolutionary War.
Crossing the icy river helped Washington's army win the important Battle of Trenton. This victory changed how the war was going. Today, Washington's Crossing is a National Historic Landmark. It includes two state parks, one in Washington Crossing, New Jersey, and another in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. These parks are located north of Trenton, New Jersey.
