Artubus Beach: A Lakeside Resort Area
Artubus Beach is a community located right on the eastern shore of Otsego Lake. It started out as a small resort area, a fun place for people to visit and relax. Its name comes from the lake and the many Arbutus plants that grow in the nearby forests.
Farrar Landing: Along Chub Creek
Farrar Landing is another community in the township. It's found along a small stream called Chub Creek.
Otsego Lake Community: A Historic Spot
The community named Otsego Lake is located at the southern end of the big Otsego Lake. It's a central spot where two county roads, C-38 and F-38, meet, just east of Interstate 75. This community was settled way back in 1872, thanks to the Jackson, Lansing and Saginaw Railroad. It was named after the lake, of course! From 1875 to 1877, this community even served as the very first county seat for Otsego County. A post office was open here for many years, from 1873 to 1932.

Waters is a community located in the southwestern part of Otsego Lake Township.

Otsego Lake Township covers a total area of about 35.42 square miles (91.74 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 32.72 square miles (84.74 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 2.70 square miles (6.99 square kilometers), is water, making up about 7.62% of the township's total area. This includes parts of Otsego Lake and other smaller bodies of water.

According to the 2020 census, 2,857 people call Otsego Lake Township home. In 2000, there were 2,532 people living here. Most households were families, with many married couples living together.
