Wesel is a special area in the northwestern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is called a Kreis (which means district). It's a place where many people live and work.

History of Wesel District

The Wesel district was created in 1975. Before that, there were three older districts: Dinslaken, Moers, and Rees. These older areas were first formed in 1816. That was when this part of Germany became part of Prussia. In 1975, these three districts joined together to form the single, larger Wesel district we know today.

Geography of Wesel

The most important river flowing through the Wesel district is the mighty River Rhine. This big river is very important for the area. It helps with transportation and provides beautiful views.
