The West Branch Magalloway River is a river about 9.3 miles (15 kilometers) long. It flows through the northern parts of New Hampshire and northwestern Maine in the United States. This river is a smaller stream that flows into the larger Magalloway River. It's part of the Androscoggin River system, which means its waters eventually join the Androscoggin River.

Where the River Starts

The West Branch Magalloway River begins in the very northeastern corner of Pittsburg, New Hampshire. It starts at a place called Boundary Pond. The western edge of this pond is right next to the border between the United States and Canada.

River's Journey

From Boundary Pond, the river takes a curving path towards the east. After flowing for about two miles, it crosses into Maine. The river then travels through a wide, wet area known as Moose Bog. This bog is a type of wetland, often home to unique plants and animals.

Joining Other Rivers

The West Branch Magalloway River eventually meets another stream called the Second East Branch of the Magalloway River. When these two branches come together, they form the main Magalloway River. This meeting point is important because it marks the official start of the larger Magalloway River. The Magalloway River then continues its journey, eventually flowing into the Androscoggin River.
