Whelen Springs is a small town located in Clark County, Arkansas, in the United States. In 2020, about 47 people lived there. This town was once a busy place, especially between 1930 and 1939. It was a main center for a big company called the Ozan Lumber Company.
Town Location and Size
Whelen Springs is in the southern part of Clark County. It is about 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the Little Missouri River. Arkansas Highway 53 goes through the town. This highway leads north about 6 miles (9.7 km) to Gurdon. It also goes south about 10 miles (16 km) to Bluff City, by way of Highway 24.
The United States Census Bureau says that Whelen Springs covers a total area of 0.23 square miles (0.61 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
