The White River Amphitheatre is a large outdoor concert place. It is managed by a company called Live Nation. You can find it about 8 miles (13 km) east of Auburn, Washington. It's also about 7 miles (11 km) west of Enumclaw, Washington.

This amphitheatre is located on the land of the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation. It's a bit further from bigger cities. It's about 22 miles (35 km) northeast of Tacoma. And it's about 36 miles (58 km) southeast of Seattle.

The venue can hold 16,000 people. About 9,000 of these seats are covered by a roof. The White River Amphitheatre was finished in 2003. It cost over $30 million to build. It covers an area of 98 acres (40 hectares). The stage has a special metal roof that helps the sound. There are also two big video screens, each 30 by 40 feet (9 by 12 meters), on the sides of the stage.

History of the Amphitheatre

The White River Amphitheatre first opened its doors on June 14, 2003. A famous band from the area, Heart, was the very first group to perform there.

Building the amphitheatre took a while. Work on the ground started eight years before it opened. The project was delayed because of concerns about the environment. There were also worries about how traffic would be affected.

The Army Corps of Engineers gave permission for construction in September 2002. In February 2003, the state allowed access from a busy road. This helped the project move forward.

When it first opened, the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe helped run the venue. They worked with Clear Channel Entertainment and Bill Graham Presents. Today, Live Nation operates the amphitheatre. In 2015, they changed the capacity from 20,000 to 16,000 people. To help with traffic, the venue offers shuttle buses. These buses go to and from The Outlet Collection Seattle mall. Shuttles leave once 42 people have filled them.
