Whitmer is a small community located in Randolph County, West Virginia, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau defines for gathering population data, even though it's not officially a city or town.
Whitmer is about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) south-southwest of a place called Harman. It sits right on the Dry Fork Cheat River, which is a branch of the larger Cheat River. In 2010, the population of Whitmer was 106 people. The community used to have its own post office, but it closed on May 21, 2011.
