Wilson Run, also known as Wilson Creek, is a small stream located in southern Stone County, Missouri. It flows through the beautiful Ozarks region in the southwestern part of the state. This stream is a tributary, meaning it flows into a larger river, which in this case is the James River.

Where Does Wilson Run Flow?

Wilson Run starts its journey just north of Missouri Route 76. This is about 1.5 miles southwest of the town of Reeds Spring. From its starting point, the stream flows generally towards the northwest.

As it flows, Wilson Run runs alongside several Missouri highways. These include Routes 248, 265, and 413. Eventually, Wilson Run empties into the James River. This meeting point is about 1.5 miles south of Galena. The James River then flows into Table Rock Lake.

How Wilson Run Got Its Name

Wilson Run was named after an early settler in the area. His name was James Wilson, and he was known as a trapper and hunter. A school nearby was also named after the stream, called Wilson Run School.
