History of Wilsonville
Wilsonville was first settled in 1872. Back then, it had a different name: "Wild Turkey." Imagine a town named after a bird!
A post office, where people could send and receive mail, was set up on April 18, 1873. A few months later, on December 16, 1873, the town's name was officially changed. It became Wilsonville to honor two brothers, L.M. and Carlos Wilson. They were important merchants and stockmen in the area.
