Windermere is a suburb in the City of Maitland area. It is located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Windermere is about 14 kilometers (9 miles) from the center of Maitland.
The suburb gets its name from the historic Windermere estate. This estate is home to Windermere House. This old house belonged to Tom White Melville Winder. It is known as the oldest house in the entire Hunter Region.
