Winikon was a small town, also known as a municipality, located in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. It was part of the Sursee district.
On January 1, 2009, Winikon joined with the nearby town of Triengen. Now, both towns are part of one larger municipality called Triengen.

Winikon covers an area of about 7.6 square kilometers (around 2.9 square miles). A big part of this land, about 63.8%, is used for farming. This means there are lots of fields and farms.
Another large part, 29.3%, is covered by forests. The rest of the land, about 6.8%, is where buildings and roads are located.
People and Life in Winikon
In 2007, Winikon had a population of 744 people. About 7.3% of these people were from other countries. Over the ten years before 2007, the number of people living in Winikon went down a little bit.
Most people in Winikon speak German. In 2000, about 93.3% of the population spoke German. Albanian was the second most common language, spoken by 2.9% of the people. A smaller number, 0.9%, spoke French.
