A Look Back: History of Winter Springs
Winter Springs started as a community called "Tuskawilla" around 1865. Later, in 1959, it officially became a city named "City of North Orlando."
However, this name caused some confusion because it wasn't actually next to the City of Orlando. So, in 1972, the city changed its name to "City of Winter Springs."

Winter Springs is located in the central southwest part of Seminole County, Florida. Its exact spot is at 28 degrees, 41 minutes, 20 seconds North and 81 degrees, 16 minutes, 13 seconds West (28°41′20″N 81°16′13″W / 28.68889°N 81.27028°W).
