The Story of the Lost Kingdom
Bloom and her best friends, Flora, Stella, Musa, Aisha, and Tecna, are on a very important mission. Bloom is looking for her birth parents, King Oritel and Queen Marion. She believes they are still alive, even though her home planet, Domino, was destroyed long ago.
Searching for Answers
The Winx Club fairies try to find Hagen, a special blacksmith. He made King Oritel's powerful sword, which is always connected to its true owner. They hope Hagen can help them find Bloom's parents by tracking the sword's magic.
They sneak into Hagen's castle, but he thinks they are invaders. Luckily, Faragonda, a friend of Hagen's and the headmistress of Alfea, arrives. They all go back to Alfea to talk. Bloom asks Hagen for help, but he says he can't. Bloom feels sad and guilty, thinking her friends' efforts were for nothing.
Graduation and a New Clue
Most of the third-year fairies at Alfea, including Bloom's friends, graduate. They become guardian fairies of their home planets. Bloom can't graduate because her powers are not complete yet. She feels left out as she watches her friends celebrate.
Sky, Bloom's boyfriend, comes to cheer her up. He tells her not to give up on finding her parents. They have a sweet moment, but then a mysterious girl shows up. Sky has to leave quickly, promising to explain later.
A Dream and a Birthday Surprise
The next day, Bloom goes to Earth to stay with her adoptive parents, Mike and Vanessa. Even though she tries to be happy, Mike and Vanessa see that Bloom doesn't truly belong on Earth. They know she belongs in the Magical Dimension.
That night, Bloom has a dream. Her sister, Daphne, appears to her. Daphne tells Bloom that there is still hope and that their parents are alive. She gives Bloom strength through her magical mask. Daphne also tells Bloom about the Book of Fate. This book tells the whole history of Domino and where it is hidden.
The next morning, Bloom's friends surprise her for her eighteenth birthday. Bloom shares her new plan, and they all agree to help. They remind her of their strong friendship. This new hope for Bloom makes King Oritel's sword glow. The sword is hidden deep in the Obsidian Circle, a place of dark magic.
The Ancestral Witches and Mandragora
The glow of the sword worries the spirits of the three Ancestral Witches. These witches were the ones who destroyed Domino. They send Mandragora, the keeper of Obsidian, to find out why the sword is active again. They also give Mandragora some of their dark powers.
Meanwhile, Bloom and her friends head to Domino. Bloom uses Daphne's mask to see her sister's memories. She sees Domino as a beautiful paradise before it was covered in ice and snow. The group reaches the mountain where the Book of Fate is hidden. Tecna warns them about a magical bird called the Roc that guards the library.
The Specialists (the boys) try to climb the mountain first. They accidentally wake up the Roc, and it flies off with them! The girls use Musa's music spells to save them. They help the Roc land safely.
The Book of Fate
Inside the library, Bloom and her friends meet Bartelby. He is King Oritel's scribe, now a spirit. He shows them the Book of Fate. They learn that Bloom's parents were part of a group called the Company of Light. This group fought against the Ancestral Witches. The book says that Oritel and all the people of Domino are trapped in the Obsidian Circle.
However, the rest of the book's pages are empty after the battle. Bartelby then shares a prophecy. It says that six legendary warriors will save Domino. It also says a king without a crown will free King Oritel's sword. As the team celebrates this discovery, Riven is bitten by one of Mandragora's spy bugs. He falls under her control.
Entering the Obsidian Circle
Soon after, Mandragora attacks Alfea. Even though she is defeated, she learns more about Bloom. She reports back about the second princess of Domino. After Mandragora leaves, the group repairs Alfea. Then they search for a way into the Obsidian Circle. Their search leads them to Pixie Village.
With the help of Lockette, they find the entrance to the Obsidian Circle. As the girls enter, Mandragora appears. She forces Riven to fight Sky and get the key. This separates the girls from the boys. Riven is about to stab Sky when Musa jumps in front of him and gets hurt.
Facing Fears and Finding Hope
Inside the Obsidian Circle, the girls face their worst fears. Bloom sees what happened to her parents. Oritel was pulled into the Obsidian Circle by the Ancestral Witches. Queen Marion absorbed herself into the sword to be with him. Bloom sees her father turned to stone, just like everyone else on her planet.
The fairies wake up from their visions. They come face-to-face with the Ancestral Witches. The witches weaken all the Winx except Bloom. They force Bloom to choose: destroy the sword and save her adoptive parents, or take the sword and let Mandragora kill them.
Bloom realizes it's an illusion. She trusts the boys, who are still fighting Mandragora. Bloom unleashes the power of the Dragon Flame. Outside, Riven remembers his moments with Musa. He regains his mind, picks her up, and they kiss.
Sky arrives to help Bloom, who is struggling. He takes the sword. Only a king can wield the sword, and Sky supposedly dies.
Victory and Reunion
Bloom is ready to give up, but Daphne reminds her she's not alone. Bloom puts on Daphne's mask, and Daphne joins her. Together, they attack the Ancestral Witches. Mandragora returns, and the Ancestral Witches use her body as a host. They start to strangle Bloom.
Suddenly, Sky wakes up! He stabs Mandragora with Oritel's sword. This allows Bloom to use the Dragon Flame on Mandragora. Both Mandragora and the entire Obsidian Circle are destroyed, freeing everyone.
Sky explains that he is now the king of Eraklyon. His coronation was the night he left Bloom at Alfea. With Domino restored, Oritel is freed from stone, and Marion returns to human form. Bloom's Enchantix power is complete. She is finally reunited with her birth parents.
A Happy Ending and a New Beginning
At a party, Oritel and Marion promise Bloom they will never leave her again. Mike and Vanessa are also there, and Bloom gives them a big hug. Oritel starts the traditional father-daughter dance. But then he lets Bloom dance with Sky, who proposes to her!
Bloom happily accepts, and they kiss. Bartelby appears by the Book of Fate. He tells everyone that the prophecy has come true. Bloom is now a guardian fairy, and there is a new Company of Light: the Winx Club!
In the very last scene, we learn that the Ancestral Witches were not destroyed. They were freed when the Obsidian Circle was destroyed. They are now looking for new bodies to take over and plan to destroy the Winx. They are shown with their direct descendants, the Trix, laughing wildly. This ending sets up the next movie, Winx Club 3D: Magical Adventure.
