Witch Hunter Robin (also known as Witch Hunter ROBIN) is a Japanese anime TV series. It was made in 2002 by a company called Sunrise and directed by Shūkō Murase.
The story is about a secret group called "SOLOMON" or "STN". This group fights against people who use witchcraft in harmful ways. They have a list of witches, including those who are born with witch powers. They also track people who carry the "witch gene" (called "seeds"). If these powers "wake up," STN will arrest or stop them. The series mainly follows a member of STN's Japanese branch, Robin Sena.

What the Story is About
Robin Sena is a special "craft user." She was born in Japan but grew up in Italy with the Roman Catholic Church. She learned to use her fire powers to hunt witches.
Witchcraft is a special trait that some people are born with. It can be hidden inside them, like a "seed." These powers can "wake up" at any time. When they do, the person might start acting strangely or dangerously.
Hunters like Robin are also "craft users" or "seeds" themselves. Their powers haven't fully awakened, so they can help watch over other "seeds." They also hunt witches whose abilities become active. These hunters work for secret groups like "Solomon" and "STN-J" in Japan. They act like a secret police force for witches. Their goal is to stop witchcraft from being used in public and to keep witches a secret from everyone else. Even the regular police, who work with STN-J on strange cases, don't know what STN-J truly does.
The story starts when Robin comes to Japan. She is secretly trying to find information for Solomon headquarters about a special item. This item is said to hold the "secrets of the craft." While doing this, she pretends to be a new hunter for STN-J. She helps them catch witches.
Orbo: The Witch Power Blocker
"Orbo" is a green liquid that can stop witch powers. STN-J hunters carry small bottles of it on necklaces shaped like a cross. This helps protect them from witches' powers. Hunters also use special air pistols that shoot darts or pellets filled with Orbo. When Orbo gets into a witch's blood, it weakens their powers.
Hunters who are "craft users" or "seeds" can use Orbo without getting sick. However, their own powers might become weaker while they use it. Robin, who is a "craft user," doesn't like to use Orbo because she thinks it's "disgusting."
Robin's Doubts
As the series continues, Robin starts to feel uneasy about hunting and catching other witches. She begins to wonder how they are treated when they are held in a mysterious place called the "Factory."
Later, after some "secrets of the craft" are found, Robin is tricked and attacked. Then, STN-J itself is attacked. Robin starts to worry that she might become a target. She even suspects that her partner, Amon, might hunt her. Eventually, Robin is indeed labeled a witch by Solomon and becomes the one being "hunted." By the end of the story, Robin learns much more about her own powers and about witches than she knew before.
At first, the series seems to have a "monster of the week" style, where each episode features a new witch to catch. But about halfway through the 26 episodes, the main characters and their relationships are set up. Then, the main story really begins.
