Xavier Espot Zamora (born 30 October 1979) is an important person in Andorra. He is a politician and has been the Prime Minister of Andorra since 2019. The Prime Minister is like the main leader of the government. He is also the head of a political group called Democrats for Andorra. Before becoming Prime Minister, he worked as a minister for social affairs, justice, and interior from 2012 to 2019. Mr. Espot is also a trained lawyer, which means he knows a lot about laws. He started his career working in courts.

Early Life and Education
Xavier Espot Zamora was born on 30 October 1979. His hometown is Escaldes-Engordany, which is in Andorra. His father, Xavier Espot Miró, was also a minister in the government. His mother, Melània Zamora Bonet, was a businesswoman and a doctor. She passed away in 2019. His grandmother, Júlia Bonet Fité, started a well-known perfume company. Xavier Espot also has a younger sister.
Mr. Espot went to school in Andorra and also in Switzerland. He studied law at a school called ESADE Business School. He earned two degrees in law there. He also studied Humanities at University Ramon Llull in Barcelona, Spain.
Career in Law
After finishing his studies, Xavier Espot started working in the legal field. From 2004 to 2008, he was a court clerk. This job involves helping judges and keeping court records. Later, he worked at the High Court of Andorra.
He also became a batlle, which is a type of judge in Andorra. He worked on different kinds of cases, including those about civil matters and young people. He also received special training to be a judge in France and Spain.
Political Journey
Xavier Espot's journey in politics began in 2011. He joined the Government of Andorra as a Secretary of State for Justice and the Interior. This role meant he helped manage important areas like law and order.
In 2012, he became a full minister. He was in charge of social affairs, justice, and the interior. He held these important jobs until 2019. In February 2019, he decided to leave his minister role. He wanted to run for the top job: Prime Minister. He became the main candidate for the Democrats for Andorra party. After the election, he was chosen as the president of his party in June 2019.
Leading Andorra as Prime Minister
In the 2019 election, Xavier Espot's party won the most votes. However, they did not win enough seats to have a full majority on their own. So, they formed a team with other political groups. These groups were Liberals of Andorra and Committed Citizens. This team allowed them to form a government.
Xavier Espot Zamora officially became the Prime Minister of Andorra on 16 May 2019. As Prime Minister, he works to improve Andorra. He tried to help Andorra's economy grow in new ways. For example, he worked on a plan for a research center. He was re-elected as the leader of his party in September 2023.
