Xavier Savage, born on April 24, 2002, is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a fullback or winger for the Canberra Raiders team in the National Rugby League (NRL).

About Xavier Savage

Xavier was born in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. He went to Brisbane Boys College and played rugby union when he was younger. He is an Indigenous Australian and also a Torres Strait Islander. His family comes from the Birri Gubba and Gungganyji people, and from Erub Island.

Xavier's Rugby League Journey

Starting in 2021

Xavier Savage played his first top-level game for the Canberra Raiders in 2021. This was in Round 15 of the 2021 NRL season against the St. George Illawarra Dragons. He came into the game as an "18th man" or concussion replacement. This means he could play if a teammate got a head injury. He played for 12 minutes. Later that year, Xavier got a shoulder injury. This meant he could not play for the rest of the 2021 season.

Playing in 2022

In the 2022 NRL season, Xavier played 19 games for the Canberra Raiders. His team finished 8th, which meant they made it to the finals. Xavier played in both of the Raiders' finals matches. However, the team was knocked out by the Parramatta Eels.

The 2023 Season

The 2023 NRL season was tough for Xavier. In March, it was announced that he had broken his jaw. This injury kept him from playing for more than four weeks. Because of this, he only played one game for the Canberra Raiders that year.

His 2024 Performance

Xavier had a strong 2024 NRL season. He played 24 games for the Canberra Raiders. He scored 15 tries, which are like touchdowns in rugby league. The Raiders finished 9th in the league. In December, the club announced that Xavier had signed a new contract. This means he will stay with the Canberra Raiders until the end of the 2027 season.
