Xuxa 5 (which means Xuxa Five) is a super popular music album by the famous Brazilian singer, TV host, and actress Xuxa Meneghel. It was her seventh studio album and her sixth one in Portuguese. The album was released on August 1, 1990, by Som Livre. It was the fifth album in Xuxa's special Xou da Xuxa series.

Some of the most famous songs from this album are "Pinel Por Você", "Trem Fantasma", and especially "Lua de Cristal". This album was a huge success! It sold over 1 million copies and earned a special "diamond certification" from the Brazilian music industry group ABPD.

Making the Album: Xuxa 5

When Xuxa 5 was made, the music producers wanted to try new things. They kept the fun style that fans loved from Xuxa's earlier albums. But they also added new sounds, like lambada music, which was very popular at the time.

They recorded 20 songs for the album, but only 13 were chosen to be on the final list. One song that didn't make it was "Direito dos Baixinhos" (Rights of the Little Ones).

The song "Lua de Cristal" became the biggest hit from this album. It's also one of the most famous songs in Xuxa's whole career! It was first written to be the main song for a movie. But Xuxa liked it so much that she decided to put it on the album too. Another popular song, "Pinel Por Você", was the last hit song written for Xuxa by Cid Guerrero.

Xuxa, often called the Children's Queen, always wanted her songs to teach kids something. For example, in "Cobra, Chapéu e Palito", she teaches about different types of accents in words. The song "Leitura" (Reading) was made to encourage children to read more books. And "O Boto Rosa" (The Pink Dolphin) teaches about nature.

The album Xuxa 5 was created by Michael Sullivan and Paulo Massadas. It was recorded at the Som Livre studios.

Sharing the Music: Promotion

Most of the songs from Xuxa 5 were performed on Xuxa's TV show. But "Lua de Cristal", "Pinel Por Você", and "Trem Fantasma" were the most promoted songs.

Only three songs from the album had music videos when they were first released. "Pinel Por Você" had a video shown on the TV show Fantástico. "O Boto Rosa" had a video shown on Xou da Xuxa. And "Lua de Cristal" had two videos: one for the 1990 Christmas TV special and another for her regular show.

To help promote the album, Xuxa went on the Xuxa 90 tour across Brazil. She performed in cities like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife, and Belo Horizonte. She also performed in other countries, including Paraguay and Chile.
