As a teenager, she studied and performed in professional dance and ballet groups. She also had a short career as a model, appearing in fashion shows and advertisements. Later, she realized she loved acting even more. Yael then studied acting at the Yoram Loewenstein Performing Arts Studio in Tel Aviv, Israel.

After two seasons of the show, Grobglas joined a three-year acting program. She finished filming the third season of "The Island" in 2010. During her acting studies, she also appeared in many major commercials.
