Yeidckol Polevnsky Gurwitz (born 25 January 1958) is a Mexican politician. She was born in Mexico City with the name Citlali Ibáñez Camacho. From 2017 to 2020, she served as the General Secretary of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), which is a major political party in Mexico.
Before joining MORENA, she was a candidate for governor of the State of Mexico in 2005. She also worked as a senator for the State of Mexico from 2006 to 2012.

Her Early Life and Name Change
Yeidckol Polevnsky Gurwitz was born Citlali Ibáñez Camacho. Her parents were Guillermina Camacho Amezcua and Colonel Cuitláhuac Ibáñez Treviño. When she was very young, her parents divorced.
In 2005, Polevnsky explained that her original name was changed because of family reasons. Her mother changed her name to Yeidckol Polevnsky. She has mentioned that the surname Polevnsky is from Poland.
Her Professional Background
Yeidckol Polevnsky studied psychology at the Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City. She has held several important roles at the Cámara Nacional de la Industria de la Transformación (CANACINTRA). This is a big organization for businesses in Mexico. In 2002, she became the first woman president of CANACINTRA.
Her Political Journey
Running for Governor
In 2005, Yeidckol Polevnsky was chosen by the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) to run for governor of the State of Mexico. She ran in the 2005 México state election. She did not win the election. The winner was Enrique Peña Nieto, who later became the President of Mexico in 2012.
Becoming a Senator
In the 2006 general election, she supported Andrés Manuel López Obrador for president. During this election, she was elected to the Senate. She represented the State of Mexico and served as a senator from 2006 to 2012.
Joining MORENA
In 2014, she left the PRD party. She then joined the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA). In 2015, she ran to become the mayor of Naucalpan, a city in the State of Mexico. She did not win this election.
After the 2015 elections, she was chosen as the General Secretary of MORENA on 20 November 2015. On 12 December 2017, she became the President of MORENA. This happened when Andrés Manuel López Obrador left the position to run for president. She also served in the Chamber of Deputies. She left this role in June 2023 to seek the party's nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
