Where the Yindjilandji People Lived
The Yindjilandji people lived on a large area of land. According to Norman Tindale, a famous researcher, their traditional land covered about 21,200 square kilometres (8,200 square miles).
They were a people of the Barkly Tableland. This is a large, flat area in the Northern Territory. Their land included places like Buchanan Creek and the Ranken River. To the west, their land reached towards Dalmore and Alroy Downs. To the east, their territory went across the border into Queensland. It was near the start of the Gregory River and Lawn Hill Creek.
