Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr is a secondary school located in Cardiff, Wales. It is a Welsh-medium comprehensive school, which means all subjects are taught in Welsh. The school first opened its doors in September 1998. It was the second school of its kind in Cardiff. The buildings used to be part of Waterhall Secondary Modern School. Later, they were the Lower School for Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf. The current headteacher is Dr Rhodri Thomas.

Where Students Come From
This school welcomes students from a large area in western Cardiff. This area includes many different communities. Some of these places are Culverhouse Cross, Ely, Caerau, and Grangetown. Other areas include Butetown, Riverside, Canton, and Fairwater. Students also come from Llandaff, Radyr, Creigiau, Pentyrch, and Gwaelod-y-Garth.
In 2023, nearly half of the students, about 46.5 percent, spoke Welsh at home. In 2013, about 9 percent of the students came from an ethnic background other than 'White-British'.

Award-Winning Teachers
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr is proud to have teachers who have won special awards. These awards recognize their excellent teaching skills.
In 2005, Mrs Meinir Rees was named the Wales SEN Teacher of the Year. SEN stands for Special Educational Needs. Later that same year, she also became the UK SEN Teacher of the Year.
The next year, in 2006, Mr Geraint Rees received an award. He was named the Wales Secondary Headteacher of the Year. He was also a runner-up for the UK version of this important award.
