Catrin Stewart (born January 29, 1988) is an actress from Wales. She is famous for her roles in popular TV shows. You might know her as Jenny Flint in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who. Early Life and Education
Catrin Stewart grew up in Wales. She went to a Welsh-language school called Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr in Cardiff. From a young age, she loved acting. She often performed at the annual eisteddfod, which is a festival where schools compete in arts.
Her mother noticed her passion for acting. She said Catrin was the one she could always hear in school concerts. Catrin took drama classes from age 10 to 15. She mainly learned how to act for television.
When she was 16, she joined the National Youth Theatre of Wales. Later, she studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Even before she finished college, Catrin had already acted in some shows. These included the BBC medical drama Casualty (2007). In 2011, Catrin joined the cast of the Sky One comedy series Stella. She played Emma Morris, the kind and funny daughter of the main character. This role was a big part of her career from 2012 to 2017.
In 2012, Catrin took on a major role in theatre. She played Juliet in a play called Romeo and Juliet. A theatre critic, Kate Kellaway, said Catrin's performance was "one of the most captivating and touching" she had ever seen. The next year, Catrin performed in her first London play. It was called Longing at the Hampstead Theatre. She acted alongside famous actors like Tamsin Greig.
Catrin also starred in a Welsh-language film called The Library (2015). This film won an award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It was the first Welsh-language film to win that award.
