Yuya Yagira (柳楽 優弥, Yagira Yūya, born March 26, 1990) is a famous Japanese actor. He made history in 2004 by becoming the youngest person ever to win the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. He won this award for his amazing role as 12-year-old Akira in the movie Nobody Knows.

Acting Career
Yagira was only 12 years old when he started filming Nobody Knows in 2002. He was not a professional actor at that time. After this successful movie, he quickly began working on many television shows and other films.
In 2010, he starred with Eriko Sato in the movie All to the Sea. He also appeared with Kie Kitano in Under the Nagasaki Sky, which came out in 2013. In 2021, Yagira played a younger version of the famous Japanese director and comedian Takeshi Kitano in the movie Asakusa Kid.
Personal Life
Marriage and Family
On December 2, 2009, Yagira shared on his blog that he was engaged to television personality Ellie Toyota
. They held their wedding ceremony on January 15, 2010, at Tokyo's Meiji Shrine. They had officially registered their marriage the day before. Yagira and Toyota have one daughter, who was born on October 13, 2010.The couple first met when Toyota was in her final year of high school. Yagira was immediately interested in her and asked a friend for her contact information. This is how their relationship began. Yagira once proposed to Toyota when he was seventeen, but he learned that people needed to be at least eighteen to legally marry. He proposed again two years later when he was nineteen, and this time, Toyota said yes!

In 2018, Yagira became the face of GATSBY, a Japanese brand for men's grooming products. He starred in a TV commercial called "GATSBY Cop" alongside another popular Japanese actor, Mackenyu Arata.
