Yuzo Tashiro (田代 有三, Tashiro Yūzō, born July 22, 1982) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward and was also a member of the Japan national team.

Yuzo Tashiro's Football Journey

Early Days and University Success

Yuzo Tashiro started his football journey playing for Fukuoka University Ohori High School. After high school, he continued to play while studying at Fukuoka University. During his time at the university, he was part of the Japan team that won a big football competition. This was at the 22nd Universiade games held in Daegu, South Korea.

Playing While in College

In 2003 and 2004, Yuzo was chosen as a "Designated Player for Development." This special status allowed him to play for professional clubs even while still being a university student. He played one game for Oita Trinita in 2003. In 2004, he played 10 games for Sagan Tosu.

Professional Career Highlights

After finishing university in 2005, Yuzo joined Kashima Antlers. He quickly became a key player for the club in the 2006 season. He played 114 games for Kashima Antlers, scoring 31 goals. During his time there, he helped the team win the J1 League three times in a row (2007, 2008, 2009). They also won the Emperor's Cup in 2007 and the J.League Cup in 2011.

In 2010, he played on loan for Montedio Yamagata, where he scored 10 goals in 29 games. After leaving Kashima Antlers, he joined Vissel Kobe in 2012. He played 66 games for them, scoring 15 goals. Later, in 2015, he moved to Cerezo Osaka.

Playing for Japan

Yuzo Tashiro also had the honor of playing for the Japan national team. He earned his first international cap on February 17, 2008. This was during an East Asian Cup match against China. He played a total of 3 games for the national team.

Later Career

After his time in Japan, Yuzo Tashiro moved to Australia. He played for Wollongong Wolves from 2017 to 2018. He played 41 games for them and scored 14 goals. Overall, Yuzo Tashiro played in 290 club games and scored 79 goals throughout his career.
