José Roberto de Oliveira, known as Zé Roberto, is a former Brazilian football player. He was born on December 9, 1980. Zé Roberto played as an attacking midfielder. This means he helped both defend and attack, often setting up goals for his team.

Football Career Highlights
Zé Roberto was born in Itumbiara, a city in Brazil. He played for many different football clubs during his career.
In August 2007, a deal was made for Zé Roberto to join the German team FC Schalke 04. He moved there in January 2008. He scored a goal in his very first game for Schalke 04 on February 3, 2008. It was an exciting moment, as he scored just 33 seconds after coming onto the field!
Playing for Flamengo
Later, Zé Roberto was loaned to Flamengo, a big club in Brazil. He played his first match for Flamengo on February 4, 2009. In that game, he scored his first goal for Flamengo after only six minutes! Flamengo won the game 4–1 at the famous Maracanã Stadium. Zé Roberto enjoyed his time there and wanted to stay with the club.
Time at Vasco da Gama
After his time at Flamengo, Zé Roberto moved to another Brazilian club, Vasco da Gama, in May 2010. He signed a contract to play for them until July 2011. He continued to show his skills as an attacking midfielder.
