Zack Valentine was born on May 29, 1957. He is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). The NFL is the biggest professional American football league. Zack played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for four seasons in total.
As a new player, called a rookie, he won a Super Bowl championship with the Steelers. This was in Super Bowl XIV. After his playing career, Valentine became a successful high school football coach.

Early Life and Football Journey
Zack Valentine grew up in Edenton, North Carolina. He played high school football at John A. Holmes High School. After high school, he went on to play college football for East Carolina University.
Joining the NFL
In 1979, Zack Valentine was chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Draft. This meant he was picked to play for a professional team. He joined the Steelers and played for them from 1979 to 1981.
Winning the Super Bowl
Zack Valentine had an amazing start to his NFL career. In his very first year, 1979, his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, won Super Bowl XIV. The Super Bowl is the championship game of the NFL. Winning it as a rookie is a huge achievement for any player. After his time with the Steelers, he also played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1982.
Life as a Coach
After his playing days, Zack Valentine became a football coach. He was the head football coach at Woodbury High School. This school is in Woodbury, New Jersey. He coached there from 2002 until he retired in 2012.
Coaching Success
As a coach, Valentine had a great record. He won 82 games and lost 37 games at Woodbury. This made him the coach with the second-most wins in the school's history. He also led his team to win three state sectional titles. This means his teams were champions in their section of the state.
One of the players he coached was Chris Pressley. Chris Pressley later went on to play in the NFL too. Zack Valentine now lives in Logan Township.
