Zaeden's Early Life and Music Start
Zaeden was born in Gurugram, India. As a child, he went to The Heritage School. There, he learned to play the tabla and piano. When he was 14, he started performing as a DJ. A DJ mixes music for people to dance to.
He studied mass communication for a short time. Then, he moved to Mumbai to study sound engineering. This is about how music is recorded and mixed. Sahil chose the name "Zaeden" because his birth name was very common. He said "Zaeden" means "thinking outside the box" in Latin.
Zaeden's Personal Life
Zaeden married DJ Nina Shah on October 26, 2024. Their wedding was a small ceremony in Goa.
Zaeden's Music Career
Zaeden started his music journey at age 14. He would mix dance music and share it with his friends. This led him to release his first song, "Land of Lords," in 2014. That same year, he made a remix of Coldplay's song "Magic." This remix was played on Dutch DJ Hardwell's radio show. This made Zaeden one of the youngest DJs to be featured on the show. He also released an official remix of Maroon 5's song "Don't Wanna Know" that year.
In 2015, Zaeden signed with Spinnin' Records. This is a big music label. He then released his song "Yesterday." He worked on this song with American DJ Borgeous.
Performing at Big Festivals
In 2016, Zaeden was a closing act for DJ David Guetta's concert in Mumbai. Later that year, he performed at the Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium. This is a very famous music festival. He was one of the few Indian artists to play there. At Tomorrowland, he played "Yesterday" and his remix of Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself."
In July 2016, Zaeden released another song called "Never Let You Go." He worked with the DJ duo Nina & Malika on this song. The song featured vocals by Cimo Frankel. The music video for it was filmed across Europe.
Fashion and Public Speaking
Zaeden was also recognized for his style. He was on GQ magazine's 'Best Dressed List 2016.' MensXP also listed him as one of the 'Top 50 Indians who defined fashion in 2016.' He also gave a speech at a TEDx event at his old school that year.
In 2017, Zaeden released another remix of Maroon 5's song "Don't Wanna Know." This version also featured American rapper Kendrick Lamar. He also released his third song, "City of the Lonely Hearts," with Cimo Frankel. That same year, he opened for Justin Bieber's Purpose World Tour concert in Mumbai.
He has represented India at other big festivals like Marenostrum. He has also played at famous clubs like Ushuaïa, Pacha, and Privilege in Ibiza.
New Music and Collaborations
On September 5, 2019, Zaeden released his first Hindi song that was not from a movie. It was called "tere bina" and came out on VYRL, Universal Music. It also had a music video with Amyra Dastur. A few weeks later, he released an acoustic version of "tere bina" with Jonita Gandhi. He played "tere bina" at Tomorrowland during his third time performing there.
During the time India was in lockdown, he released four more songs. These were "kya karoon?", "dooriyan", "intezaar," and "socha na tha." He also worked with Lost Stories on a song called "Noor." He collaborated with Sez on the Beat for "Kahaani 2020." All these songs were liked by fans and music experts.
