Zahl is a small place in the northwestern part of Williams County, North Dakota, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. Zahl is located along North Dakota Highway 50, just north of Williston, which is the main city and the county seat (the center of government) for Williams County.
History of Zahl
The community of Zahl got its name from F. R. Zahl, who was one of the first people to settle in this area. A place for sending and receiving mail, known as a post office, has been open in Zahl since 1905. This means people have been living and getting mail in Zahl for over a hundred years!
