Zante is a small place in California. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area managed by the county.
Zante is located in a big valley called the San Joaquin Valley. It's in Tulare County, which is in the middle part of California. You can find Zante about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-northwest of a city called Porterville.
The Story Behind Zante's Name
This community got its name from something yummy! Zante is named after the Zante currant. This is a special kind of small raisin. These raisins were a very important crop grown in the fields around Zante for a long time.
