Mohamad Zaquan Adha bin Abd. Radzak (born August 3, 1987) is a Malaysian former professional footballer. He played as a forward, which means he was a player who mainly tried to score goals. Zaquan is the younger of twin brothers; his brother, Aidil Zafuan, is also a well-known footballer.

Zaquan's Football Journey

Starting with Negeri Sembilan

Zaquan began his football career playing for the Negeri Sembilan team. He first represented them in the 2004 SUKMA Games. In these games, he and his twin brother won a gold medal in the football competition. In the 2005–06 season, both brothers joined the senior team. That year, Negeri Sembilan also won their first ever Malaysia Super League title.

Playing for Malaysian Armed Forces

In December 2011, Zaquan signed a contract with the Malaysia Premier League team, Malaysian Armed Forces FA. He helped this club win the 2012 Malaysia Premier League title. They also reached the final of the 2012 Malaysia Cup. However, they lost that final match 3–2 to Kelantan.

Time with Johor Darul Ta'zim

For the 2013 season, Zaquan moved to the club Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C.. His twin brother also joined him there. Unfortunately, Zaquan suffered a serious knee injury in April that year. This injury kept him from playing for the rest of the season.

Moving to Johor Darul Ta'zim II

On November 9, 2013, it was announced that Zaquan would move to Johor Darul Ta'zim II F.C.. This team played in the Malaysia Premier League. He joined them after playing one season with the main Johor Darul Ta'zim team.

Playing for Perak TBG

On December 21, 2016, Zaquan signed a one-year contract with Perak TBG F.C.. This club was part of the Malaysia Super League. He scored his first goal for Perak in a 2–2 draw against Felda United. He later scored a penalty goal against Selangor FA, helping his team win 1–0.

Joining Kuala Lumpur

On December 5, 2017, Zaquan signed with Kuala Lumpur. This team had just been promoted to a higher league. He played his first game for them and scored his first goal in a thrilling 4–3 win against Kedah FA. He scored another goal in a big local derby match during the 2018 Malaysia FA Cup quarter-finals. Even though Kuala Lumpur won that game 3–0, they lost in a penalty shootout.

Returning to Negeri Sembilan

In December 2020, news reported that Zaquan had signed with Negeri Sembilan. This club is a new version of the Negeri Sembilan FA team, where he started his professional career. He played a very important role in the 2021 season. He scored 7 league goals in 16 games. His efforts helped Negeri Sembilan get promoted to the Malaysia Super League as champions that year.

On March 14, 2024, Zaquan announced that he was retiring from playing football.

Zaquan's International Career

Playing for Youth Teams

Zaquan started representing Malaysia when he was just 14 years old. His twin brother, Mohd Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak, also played alongside him. He was part of Malaysia's youth team for the 2004 AFC Youth Championship. He was later called up for the 2006 AFC Youth Championship qualifier. He scored 2 goals in that qualifier, helping Malaysia reach the main tournament in India. However, he could not play in the tournament due to an injury.

Playing for Malaysia U23

Zaquan was called to play for the Malaysia U23 national team. This happened after he recovered from an injury, for a 2008 Olympic games qualifier. During the 2007 Merdeka Tournament, Zaquan scored 3 goals. One of these goals was in the final against Myanmar. Malaysia won that match 3–1, taking home the trophy for the first time since 1993. He also played in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games. Malaysia did not advance in that tournament after a draw with Singapore. Zaquan was called up again for the 2009 Southeast Asian Games in Laos. The U-23 team won the gold medal, which was their first in 20 years.

Playing for the Senior National Team

Zaquan made his first appearance for the senior Malaysian national team in 2007. This was during a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Bahrain. He regularly played for the national team from 2008 to 2010. He played in the 2008 AFF Cup and 2011 Asian Cup qualifiers. He missed the 2010 and 2012 AFF Cups because of injuries. He returned to the national team in 2016.

On March 24, 2018, he was chosen as the captain for a match against Lebanon. Malaysia lost that game 2–1. In a friendly match against Bhutan, he scored 4 goals in a 7–0 victory. This win ended Malaysia's long winless streak. He was also captain for Malaysia in the 2018 AFF Cup. Malaysia finished as the runners-up in that tournament.

Zaquan also played for the Malaysia XI team against famous European clubs. These included Chelsea in 2008 and Manchester United in 2009.
