Spanish Arrival

Important Discoveries and Events

An important discovery happened in Zimapán in 1801. A scientist named Andrés Manuel del Río discovered a new element called Vanadium here for the very first time.

During the Mexican Revolution, a big fight for Mexico's future, General Otilio Villegas won an important battle in Zimapán. He was fighting for the "Carrancistas," who were supporters of one of the revolution's leaders.
