Zoe Salmon (born 7 January 1980) is a well-known television presenter from Northern Ireland. She is famous for hosting the children's TV show Blue Peter from 2004 to 2008. She also appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2009. Before her TV career, Zoe was crowned Miss Northern Ireland in 1999.

About Zoe Salmon

Zoe Salmon was born in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. She grew up in Bangor, a seaside town she loves very much. She went to Kilmaine Primary School and Glenlola Collegiate School.

Later, she studied law at Queen's University, Belfast. She earned a good degree before becoming a qualified lawyer. In 1999, she won the title of Miss Northern Ireland.

In 2016, Zoe married William Corrie in Barbados. They welcomed their first child, a son named Fitz, on April 1, 2022.

Her Time on Blue Peter

Zoe Salmon became the 30th presenter of Blue Peter on October 25, 2004. Her first show was a special Christmas episode on December 23, 2004. She joined other presenters like Konnie Huq, Simon Thomas, Matt Baker, Liz Barker, Gethin Jones, and Andy Akinwolere.

Zoe was known for saying "I'd Try Anything Once." This led to her doing many exciting and sometimes daring challenges. She even tried wing-walking on an old biplane! Viewers also campaigned for her to become a magician's assistant.

She filmed a challenge where she helped a magician with illusions like levitation. She even took part in a live "sawing in half" trick on the show.

In 2006, Zoe reported on the making of the film St Trinians. She had a small, non-speaking role in the movie. Zoe left Blue Peter in June 2008, at the same time as Gethin Jones.

After she started on Blue Peter, some people complained about how her job was advertised. The BBC said the advertisement was placed in newspapers across the whole UK.

Zoe also faced some discussion when choosing a symbol for a 'Best of British' logo. She suggested the Red Hand of Ulster, a symbol from her home area. This symbol is used by different groups in Northern Ireland. A week later, she chose a map of Ireland with the Union Jack flag on it, which also caused some discussion.

In 2012, Zoe used her Twitter account to share her thoughts. She spoke about the Union flag being removed from Belfast City Hall on certain days.

Other TV Shows and Appearances

Zoe Salmon has appeared in many other TV shows and films. One of her first roles was a quick appearance in a version of Wizard of Oz in 1995. She had tried out for the main role of Dorothy.

In 2005, Zoe announced the votes from Northern Ireland for Making Your Mind Up. This show chose the UK's song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.

She was a contestant on Comic Relief Does Fame Academy in 2007. She competed against other celebrities and was the fifth person voted off. That same year, she helped switch on the Christmas lights in Belfast.

After leaving Blue Peter in 2008, she hosted a gameshow called Hot Rods on BBC2. She also appeared as a guest on Noel's Christmas Presents on Sky1.

Zoe took part in the fourth series of Dancing on Ice in 2009. She partnered with Matt Evers and made it to the quarter-finals.

She also appeared on The Chris Moyles Show and went on a date as part of a BBC Radio 1 experiment. She had a cameo role in the CBBC sitcom Dani's House.

In 2009, Zoe was on Shooting Stars. She also co-presented Skillicious on CITV, a show that encouraged kids to try new skills. She loved beatboxing! Zoe also helped present the World's Strongest Man competition in the UK.

In 2011, she presented a BBC Three show called The Big Fat Truth About Low Fat Foods. She explored how eating only diet foods affected her. She also hosted "Celebrity Wish List" on Channel 5, surprising young carers with a performance by McFly.
