Zorana Mihajlović (Serbian Cyrillic: Зорана Михајловић; born 5 May 1970) is a well-known Serbian politician. She has held important roles in the Serbian government. From 2014 to 2022, she was the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia. She also served as the Minister of Mining and Energy twice, first from 2012 to 2014, and again from 2020 to 2022. Before that, she was the Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure from 2014 to 2020. She used to be a member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Becoming a Leader: Early Life and Education
Zorana Mihajlović was born in May 1970 in Tuzla, which is in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She went to elementary and high school in Belgrade, Serbia.
Learning About Economics
In 1993, she finished her studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics. She earned a degree in Foreign and Domestic Trade. Her final paper was about Energy Resources in European Economic Community.
She continued her studies and received a master's degree in 1998. Her master's paper focused on the Energy Sector of Serbia and Selected European Countries like France, Germany, and Sweden.
In 2001, she earned her Ph.D. (a very high-level degree) from the same university. Her Ph.D. paper looked at how energy and economic development are connected between Serbia and countries in the European Union.
Teaching and Research
Later, in 2006, she became a research associate at the Faculty of Economics. This means she helped with research projects. Since 2008, she has been a professor at Megatrend University. She has also written three books and many scientific papers in Serbian.
Working Life: Professional Career
Zorana Mihajlović worked in her field for almost 15 years.
Early Jobs
She started as a professor, teaching Accounting and Business Economy at a high school in Belgrade. From 1996 to 2006, she worked at the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS). This is a big company that handles electricity. She was also part of the EPS's Board of Management from 2004 to 2007.
University Professor
Since 2008, she has been an associate professor at Megatrend University in Belgrade.
Journey in Politics: Political Career
Zorana Mihajlović began her political journey as a member of the G17 Plus party.
Advising the Government
During her time with G17 Plus, she advised Miroljub Labus, who was a deputy prime minister. She gave advice on energy and environmental protection. She also led the team for Energy and Environmental Protection Politics. From 2005 to 2006, she was the head of the Prime Minister's office. She believes in liberal ideas, which means she supports individual rights and freedoms.
Joining a New Party
In April 2010, Mihajlović joined the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). She quickly became an important member of the party's Executive Board. During the 2012 elections, she was a key leader in the campaign for the Serbian Progressive Party.
Becoming a Minister
On 27 July 2012, Zorana Mihajlović was chosen to be the Minister of Energy, Development, and Environmental Protection in the Government of Serbia.
Continuing Important Roles
In 2017, the Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić decided to run for president. He won and became the President of Serbia on 31 May 2017. A few weeks later, he asked Ana Brnabić to form a new government. On 29 June 2017, the new government was formed, and Mihajlović continued to serve as a minister.
Starting a New Movement
In April 2023, she left the SNS party. In May, she announced that she would start a new political group. This group would take part in the next elections. The movement officially began in September 2023 and is called Always for Serbia. Other former SNS members, like Dragan Šormaz and Stanislava Pak, also joined this new movement.

Zorana Mihajlović speaks English very well. She has one son.
