Miloš Vučević (Serbian Cyrillic: Милош Вучевић) was born on 10 December 1974. He is a Serbian lawyer and a well-known politician. Since 2024, he has been the Prime Minister of Serbia. He is also the current leader of the Serbian Progressive Party. Before becoming prime minister, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Defence from 2022 to 2024. From 2012 to 2022, he was the Mayor of Novi Sad.

Early Life and Education
Miloš Vučević was born in Novi Sad, which is in Serbia. He went to elementary school in Novi Sad. For high school, he studied in Bački Petrovac. Later, he went to the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law and finished his law studies in 2002. Before he entered politics, he worked as a lawyer in his family's law office until 2012.
Political Journey
Miloš Vučević started his political career as a member of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS). His father was also an important member of this party. In 2008, the SRS party split. Vučević then joined the new party called the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). This party was led by Tomislav Nikolić and Aleksandar Vučić. Miloš Vučević is known to be a close friend and trusted helper of Aleksandar Vučić.
Mayor of Novi Sad (2012–2022)
After the local elections in 2012, Miloš Vučević became the Mayor of Novi Sad. Even though his party, SNS, did not win the most votes alone, they formed a group with other parties to lead the city. He was re-elected as mayor two more times, after the elections in 2016 and 2020. From 2015 to 2016, he was also on the board of directors for the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED). In November 2021, he was chosen as the vice-president of the SNS party.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence (2022–2024)
In October 2022, the leader of the SNS party, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that Miloš Vučević would be recommended for two important roles. These roles were Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Defence of Serbia. Vučević then stepped down as the Mayor of Novi Sad. He officially took on his new roles on 26 October 2022. During his time as Minister of Defence, there were reports about Serbia selling weapons. Vučević stated that Serbia had not sold weapons to either Ukraine or Russia.
Leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (2023–present)
On 27 May 2023, Miloš Vučević was elected as the president of the SNS party. He also confirmed that the SNS would join a new political group called the People's Movement for the State (NPZD).
Prime Minister of Serbia (2024–2025)
Miloš Vučević led the SNS party to win the parliamentary election in 2023. On 30 March 2024, President Vučić asked him to form the new government of Serbia. On 2 May, the National Assembly of Serbia officially elected Miloš Vučević as the Prime Minister of Serbia. In July 2024, Vučević tested positive for the coronavirus. He continued to work from home while recovering. On 28 January 2025, Vučević resigned after public concerns and protests. He remains in acting capacity until the National Assembly acknowledges his resignation.
Political Views
Foreign Policy
Miloš Vučević supports Serbia joining the European Union. However, he believes Serbia should join without being "humiliated." He has also spoken about the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, calling it a serious event.
Kosovo Question
Vučević is against the independence of Kosovo. He believes that Kosovo is a very important part of Serbia's history and identity.
Personal Life
Miloš Vučević's father, Zoran, was also a lawyer and a high-ranking member of the SRS party. His father served as the president of the City Assembly of Novi Sad from 2004 to 2007 and passed away in 2021. Vučević's family has roots in Montenegro. His great-grandfather fought in World War I, and his grandfather fought in World War II. Miloš Vučević is married and has two sons.
