Zorana Mihajlović (born on May 5, 1970) is a well-known Serbian politician. She held important roles in the Serbian government for many years. From 2014 to 2022, she was the Deputy Prime Minister. This means she was the second-highest leader in the government, helping the Prime Minister.
She also served as the Minister of Mining and Energy twice, from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2020 to 2022. A minister is in charge of a specific part of the government, like energy. Before that, she was the Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure from 2014 to 2020. She was a member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) for a long time.

Early Life and Schooling
Zorana Mihajlović was born in May 1970 in a city called Tuzla, which is in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, she grew up and went to school in Belgrade, Serbia.
University Studies
She studied at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics. In 1993, she earned her first degree, focusing on foreign and local trade. Her main project was about "Energy Resources in European Economic Community."
Later, in 1998, she earned a master's degree from the same university. Her master's project looked at the "Energy Sector of Serbia and Selected European Countries." These countries included France, Germany, and Sweden.
In 2001, she completed her Ph.D., which is the highest university degree. Her Ph.D. research was about "Energy and Economic Development." It explored how energy and the economy are connected in Serbia and countries of the European Union.
Teaching and Research
After her studies, she became a research associate at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics in 2006. Since 2008, she has been a professor at Megatrend University. She has also written several books and scientific papers in Serbian.
Working Life
Before becoming a politician, Zorana Mihajlović worked for almost 15 years in her field. She started as a teacher, teaching accounting and business at a high school in Belgrade.
From 1996 to 2006, she worked at the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS). This is a big company that deals with electricity. She was also part of the EPS's management board from 2004 to 2007. Since 2008, she has been teaching as a professor at Megatrend University in Belgrade.
Political Journey
Zorana Mihajlović began her political career with the G17 Plus party. During this time, she advised the Deputy Prime Minister, Miroljub Labus, on energy and environmental protection. She led the team for energy and environmental policies. From 2005 to 2006, she also managed the Deputy Prime Minister's office. She believes in liberal ideas, which often focus on individual freedoms and rights.
Joining the Serbian Progressive Party
In April 2010, Mihajlović joined the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). She quickly became an important member of the party's leadership. During the 2012 elections, she was a key leader in the campaign for her party.
She was known for supporting Serbia joining the EU and NATO. This showed her party's more liberal and pro-European side.
Ministerial Roles
On July 27, 2012, Mihajlović became the Minister of Energy, Development, and Environmental Protection in the Government of Serbia.
In February 2017, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, decided to run for president. He won the election and became the President of Serbia on May 31, 2017. A few weeks later, he asked Ana Brnabić to form a new government. On June 29, 2017, the new government was formed, and Mihajlović continued to serve as a minister.
Later Political Activities
She left the SNS party in April 2023. In May, she announced that she was starting a new political group called "Always for Serbia" (Uvek za Srbiju). This group planned to take part in the next elections. The movement officially started in September 2023. Other former SNS members, Dragan Šormaz and Stanislava Pak, also joined.
However, Mihajlović later decided to close her movement. She chose to continue supporting the SNS party, even though she was no longer a member.

Zorana Mihajlović speaks English very well. She has one son.
