Zuni (pronounced 'zoo-nye') is a small, friendly community in southeastern Virginia, USA. It's located in Isle of Wight County, which is part of the Hampton Roads area. Zuni is called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own city government. Instead, it's governed by the county.

What You'll Find in Zuni
Today, Zuni has a few important places for its residents. You can find a general store, a gas station, and a shop for repairing small engines. There are also two churches and its own Post Office. In the middle of the 1900s, Zuni was a busier place. It used to have hotels, a bank, and many other businesses.
Zuni and the Blackwater River
Zuni sits right next to the Blackwater River. This river forms the border between Isle of Wight County and Southampton County. The river is a beautiful part of the landscape.
However, the Blackwater River can sometimes cause problems. In 1999, Zuni experienced a big flood from Hurricane Floyd. The river overflowed its banks. It flooded again in 2006. During these floods, the water completely covered the bridge that crosses the river. When the river overflows, many homes in the Zuni area can get flooded.

Zuni is located along U.S. Route 460. This road connects Zuni to other nearby towns. If you travel southeast from Zuni, you'll reach Windsor. If you go northwest, you'll find Ivor.
