Ángelo José Henríquez Iturra (born on April 13, 1994) is a professional footballer from Chile. He plays as a forward for Deportes La Serena.
Ángelo started his football journey with Universidad de Chile. Later, in 2012, he moved to the famous English club Manchester United. He also played for other teams like Wigan Athletic, Real Zaragoza, and Dinamo Zagreb on loan. In July 2015, he joined Dinamo Zagreb permanently.
He has also played for the Chilean national team since 2012. He was part of the team that won the 2015 Copa América in 2015.

Playing for Clubs
Starting His Career
Ángelo Henríquez began playing football with Universidad de Chile in 2007. He was 13 years old at the time. Before football, he played tennis until he was 12.
In 2009, Ángelo had a trial with Manchester United. The English club bought the right to sign him for €4 million. This meant they could sign him any time until 2014.
Time at Universidad de Chile
On June 27, 2011, Ángelo made his first professional appearance for Universidad de Chile. This was in a Copa Chile match. His team won 1–0 against Unión San Felipe.
He did not play much in the second half of that year. However, he was part of the team that won the Clausura Tournament and the Copa Sudamericana.
In 2012, Ángelo became a regular player for the team. On February 22, he scored his first international goal. This was in the Copa Libertadores against Godoy Cruz. His team won 5–1. A few days later, on February 28, he scored two goals against Cobreloa. These were his first goals in the Chilean Primera División.
Joining Manchester United
On August 21, 2012, Manchester United announced that Ángelo could officially play for them. His signing was confirmed on September 5, and he received the number 21 shirt.
Ángelo played his first game for United with the under-21 team. He scored a goal in their 4–2 win against Newcastle United.
Loan to Wigan Athletic
On January 2, 2013, Ángelo joined Wigan Athletic on loan. He stayed with them until the end of the 2012–13 season. He wore the number 11 shirt.
He made his debut in English football on January 5 in an FA Cup game. Two weeks later, he played his first Premier League match against Sunderland. He scored his first Premier League goal in that game. On May 11, 2013, he was part of the Wigan team that won the FA Cup Final against Manchester City.
Loan to Real Zaragoza
Ángelo returned to Manchester United for the 2013–14 season. He scored a goal in a friendly match against AIK on August 6, 2013.
On August 28, he joined Real Zaragoza in Spain on a loan for the season. He played his first game in the Segunda División three days later. On September 21, he scored his first goal for Zaragoza. He scored six goals in 25 matches for the team.
Playing for Dinamo Zagreb
First Loan Period
On August 11, 2014, Ángelo signed a loan deal with the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. He was given the number 9 shirt. He made his debut four days later.
He scored his first goal for Dinamo in a big match against Hajduk Split on August 31. He scored three goals in a single game (a hat-trick) multiple times for Dinamo. He finished the season with 29 goals in 37 games across all competitions.
Permanent Move
On July 6, 2015, Ángelo officially joined Dinamo Zagreb permanently. He scored for the club again on July 28 in a Champions League qualifying match.
Time at Club Atlas
On December 27, 2017, Ángelo signed with the Mexican club Atlas. The club paid €1.5 million for him.
Returning to Universidad de Chile
In the second half of 2018, Ángelo went back to Universidad de Chile. He played for them until the middle of 2021.
Playing for Fortaleza
In the second half of 2021, he moved to the Brazilian club Fortaleza. He stayed with them until December 2022.
Moving to Miedź Legnica
On June 15, 2022, Ángelo joined Miedź Legnica, a team in Poland's top league, Ekstraklasa. He signed a three-year contract.
Time at Baltika Kaliningrad
On July 12, 2023, Ángelo signed a two-year contract with Baltika Kaliningrad in the Russian Premier League. He left Baltika on June 16, 2024, after their team was moved to a lower league.
Playing for Lamia
On September 6, 2024, Ángelo moved to the Greek club Lamia. He ended his contract with them on March 1, 2025.
Back to Chile
Ángelo signed with Deportes La Serena in Chile on March 4, 2025.
International Career
Ángelo has played for Chile's youth national teams many times. He played in the 2009 South American Under-15 tournament. He also played in the 2010 South American Games and the 2011 South American Under-17 tournament.
He made his debut for the senior Chile national team on November 14, 2012. He came into the game as a substitute and scored Chile's only goal against Serbia. In his next game on August 14, 2013, he scored in a 6–0 win against Iraq.
In May 2015, Ángelo was chosen for Chile's squad for the 2015 Copa América. He played in the final group game against Bolivia. In the final against Argentina, he came on as a substitute. Chile won their first major international trophy in a penalty shoot-out.
Family Life
Ángelo is the younger brother of César Henríquez. César was also a footballer who played for Universidad de Chile.
