İhsan Sabri Çağlayangil was an important Turkish politician. He was born in Istanbul in 1908 and passed away in Ankara in 1993. He became the Acting President of Turkey in 1980. He was a member of the Justice Party. He also worked as the Minister of Foreign Affairs several times.

Early Life and Education
İhsan Sabri Çağlayangil was born in Istanbul in 1908. He attended Saint-Joseph High School. After that, he studied law at Istanbul University. He finished his studies there in 1932.
He was married to Firuzende Çağlayangil. They had a daughter named Fatma Itir Çağlayangil.
His Career in Government
After finishing university, Çağlayangil started working for the government. He served as the Governor of Bursa Province. This was from 1954 to 1960.
He later became the Minister of Labour and Social Security. This role was part of a temporary government in 1965. This happened before the general election that year.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
After the 1965 election, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Turkey. He held this important position from 1965 to 1971. His term ended because of a military event in 1971.
He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs two more times. The first was from 1975 to 1977. The second was from 1977 to 1978.
President of the Senate and Acting President
Çağlayangil became the Chairman of the Senate in November 1979. He held this role until September 1980.
Because he was the Chairman of the Senate, he became the Acting President of Turkey. This happened after President Fahri Korutürk's term ended in April 1980. He served as Acting President until September 1980.
He was a dedicated member of the Justice Party. This party was known in Turkish as Adalet Partisi.
