A New Emperor for the Byzantine Empire
- November 12 – The Emperor of the Byzantine Empire, Constantine VIII, was getting old and sick. He needed to choose someone to rule after him. He decided that his daughter, Zoe, should marry a man named Romanus Argyrus. This marriage meant Romanus would become the next emperor.
- November 15 – Just a few days later, Romanus Argyrus officially became the new Eastern Roman Emperor. He was known as Romanus III. This was a very important moment for the empire, as it got a new leader.
