Five teams from across Canada played to see who would be the champion: Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, FC Edmonton, Vancouver Whitecaps, and Ottawa Fury. The winner of this tournament would get to play in the CONCACAF Champions League, a major international club competition.

Qualifying Round

The tournament started with a qualifying round. Two teams played each other to earn a spot in the semi-finals.
