How the League Table Works
A league table shows how well each team is doing. Teams get points for winning or drawing games. The team with the most points at the end wins the league.
Here is the table for the 2018–19 Bundesliga season.
- Pos means Position: This is where the team finished in the league.
- Pld means Played: How many games the team played.
- W means Won: How many games the team won.
- D means Drawn: How many games ended in a tie.
- L means Lost: How many games the team lost.
- GF means Goals For: How many goals the team scored.
- GA means Goals Against: How many goals were scored against the team.
- GD means Goal Difference: This is Goals For minus Goals Against. A higher number is better.
- Pts means Points: The total points the team earned.
The top teams get to play in bigger European competitions. The teams at the bottom might move down to a lower league.
