This season was special for a few reasons. It was the first time the Premier League had a short break in the middle of the season. It also introduced VAR, which helps referees make big decisions using video replays. The biggest news was that Liverpool won the league! It was their first Premier League title ever, which was a huge deal for the club and their fans.

What is the Premier League?
The Premier League is the highest level of association football in England. Twenty teams compete each season. They play each other twice, once at home and once away. This means each team plays 38 matches in total.
Teams get points for their games:
- 3 points for a win
- 1 point for a draw (a tie)
- 0 points for a loss
The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the league title. The teams that finish at the very bottom of the league usually move down to a lower division. This is called being "relegated." New teams from the lower division then come up to play in the Premier League.
Who Won the 2019–20 Season?
Liverpool were the champions of the 2019–20 Premier League season. They played incredibly well and won the title with many games to spare. This was a historic win for them. It was their first Premier League title since the league began in 1992. It was also their 19th English league title overall!
