The Premier League Golden Boot is a special award given every year to the footballer who scores the most goals in a Premier League season. It's like being the top scorer in the biggest football league in England! The winners also get £1000 for each goal they scored that season.
The first player to win this award was Teddy Sheringham in the 1992-93 season. Thierry Henry from Arsenal F.C. has won the award a record 4 times. He and Alan Shearer are the only players to win it three years in a row (back-to-back). Most recently, in the 2018-19 season, the award was shared by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sadio Mané, and Mohamed Salah. They all scored 22 goals!
The first international players to win the Premier League Golden Boot were Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Dwight Yorke in the 1998-99 season.
