The Citigroup Centre is a large group of buildings in London, United Kingdom. It's where Citigroup, a major bank, has its main offices for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You can find it in Canary Wharf, a busy area in London's Docklands. This huge complex has 170,000 square meters of space. It's made of two buildings joined together: 33 Canada Square (called "CGC1") and 25 Canada Square (called "CGC2"). Most of Citigroup's employees in the UK work here.

What is 25 Canada Square?

25 Canada Square, also known as Citigroup Centre 2, is a very tall building. It stands at 200 meters (about 656 feet) high. This makes it one of the tallest buildings in the United Kingdom. It's the joint 4th-tallest, along with the HSBC Tower. Other taller buildings include The Shard, One Canada Square, and Heron Tower.

Who designed and built this tower?

The famous architect César Pelli & Associates designed this 45-story tower. Construction began in 1998 and finished in 2001. Canary Wharf Contractors built the tower. Citigroup started renting the building as soon as it was ready.

Who owns 25 Canada Square?

In 2004, the RBS bought this building. They also bought 5 Canada Square at the same time. Later, in 2007, 25 Canada Square was sold again. A group called Quinlan Private and PropInvest bought it for a lot of money. Citigroup pays rent to the owners to use the tower. The east side of the building, up to the 40th floor, can be used by other companies too.

What is 33 Canada Square?

33 Canada Square, or Citigroup Centre 1, is the smaller building in the complex. It was designed by Norman Foster. This building was finished in 1999, two years before its taller neighbor.

How big is 33 Canada Square?

This building is 105 meters (about 344 feet) tall. It has eighteen floors. All of its floors connect to the same floors in 25 Canada Square. Citigroup owns this building. It was built before the Jubilee line underground train extension was completed in late 1999.

How to get to Citigroup Centre?

The Citigroup Centre has main entrances from Canada Square and Upper Bank Street. You can also reach it through underground walkways. These walkways connect to the Canada Place shopping mall. They also lead to the Canary Wharf London Underground station. This station is on the Jubilee line.

What other transport is nearby?

The centre is also close to DLR stations. These include Canary Wharf DLR station and Heron Quays. The DLR trains connect you to the City, London City Airport, and other nearby areas.
