Abdul Rahim Hatif (Pashto: عبدالرحیم هاتف; 20 May 1926 – 19 August 2013) was an important politician from Afghanistan. He served as one of the Vice Presidents during the final years of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. He even became the acting President for a short time.

Hatif was born in Kandahar, a city in Afghanistan. He came from a Pashtun family.
His Political Career
Abdul Rahim Hatif became one of the Vice Presidents for President Mohammad Najibullah. This happened after the elections in 1988. He was the first Vice President from July 1991 to April 1992.
Before the first fall of Kabul, Hatif was the acting President of Afghanistan. This was for about two weeks in April 1992. He took over after President Najibullah left office. Hatif's time as acting President ended when the Jamiat-e Islami group took power.
Later Life and Passing
After he was no longer in power in 1992, Hatif left Afghanistan. He moved to the Netherlands. He passed away there on August 19, 2013.
